The restaurant was opened in 2021 at the request of two brothers, Artem and Mykhailo Pavlenko, as their first venture into the restaurant business, which turned out to be a great success.е Initially, the project posed a significant challenge as the available space was limited to just 36 square meters. The café gradually evolved into a community centre, frequented by many young, progressive individuals. The owners' attention to food quality, atmosphere, and neighbourhood engagement contributed to the café's success. The customer was actively involved in the construction and closely monitored all processes. Although there were occasional consultations post-project completion, the original designs and plans were faithfully executed without the need for intervention. A particularly noteworthy feature is the layout of the bathroom. Due to space constraints, a functional transition area to the bar was lacking, and the bathroom's right angle was inconvenient. Part of the interior is of oak. The kitchen chairs are from the young Danish brand TAKT. Other furniture elements were created by Lviv contractors, with their production facilities and the technical ability to implement our wildest ideas.Traditionally, when we work with planning, we try to reveal the maximum space within the location. Making the apartment look and feel larger. The living room has been expanded and connected to the corridor. Unfortunately, we were limited in some ways by the layout received from the developer. The kitchen was originally at the far end of the living space. Accordingly, we worked with an already established technical part, which, to some extent, influenced the overall planning solution. We arranged the space in the following way. We have used mosaics in the bathrooms and painted elements in the corridor area as a wardrobe. In the kitchen, we installed micro-cement floor heating. Everything is for comfort in winter. An interesting element is in the children's room. We wanted the child to have contact with their parents through the window above the desk. It is not only a spatial solution but also creates an opportunity for additional barrier-free communication in the family. We separate the bedroom by creating a plywood elevation in an alder veneer. Its owners are Zhenia and Olena. They are a young couple who decided to move from Odesa to Lviv some time ago. Since the beginning of the project, we've been impressed by the diverse interests of our clients. Zhenia collects coins, while Olena has a passion for design and pays special attention to the interior of her home. Consequently, many items in the project were personally purchased and selected by the clients. When this happens, the customer enjoys the space more. This not only allows us to fulfil the project requirements properly but also to collaboratively generate bright and fitting solutions. That's why we traditionally communicate a lot during the project, ensuring that we are heading in the right direction and that everyone is satisfied with the visuals. Ultimately, the best results come when we don't just consider the customer's vision in the design process, but also when we establish an emotional connection with the person. It's crucial to find that moment of emotional connection when you meet someone, where visions align or diverge. Regarding the project and its conceptual aspect, it could be considered a new form of modernism. However, we aim to avoid excessive loudness and do not seek to adhere to any specific style, such as Scandinavian minimalism. Instead, our approach emphasizes attention to details, surfaces, textures, and flooring. This sometimes leads to confusion when people associate our work with the Scandinavian trend. In reality, it is not minimalism as a style, but rather a combination of various schools and styles focused on simple lines. The facility itself is small, at 68.6 square meters. While we received a specific layout from the developer, we decided to create a more spacious and open area by removing walls. We connected the kitchen, corridor, and living room to form a larger volume. Additionally, we built a separate bedroom and bathroom, along with a corridor area and a kitchen featuring a unique island design. The heating was provided by concealed convection radiators. The furniture, including wardrobes, dressing rooms, kitchen components, living room table, corridor wardrobe, and shelving, was constructed by our trusted contractors from Lviv. We've built a strong team over the years, and together we always aim to create innovative products and take a responsible approach to our work. They were responsible for making most of the intricate large items. In the kitchen, we began with the gas meter location. From there, we created a stylish area with an intriguing corner made of oak-veneered plywood. The kitchen also features oak elements, painted details, and herringbone oak parquet. The rest of the items, such as dining chairs, kitchen table lamps, interior décor, ceramic vases, plants, records, and books, all belong to the owners. It's important to mention that they have a wide range of interests and are passionate about many things, which has added a lot of vibrancy to the project. Another significant detail is that they have a cat. The apartment is in the "Persenkivka" district, a historic neighbourhood in Lviv named after the Lviv merchant Jakub Persing, who owned the land since the late 17th century. The plinths, entrance portals, and windows have similar cladding. All the doors have geometric carvings, and the facades have decorative cornices.All of the buildings are behind the red line. Additionally, the houses were initially demarcated by gardens and front yards, following the principles of modernist urban planning that were prevalent at the time. The design also incorporated a laundry room with a dryer on the roof. And a private boiler room situated in the basement of each building.We were lucky enough to work with the original apartment's layout. Therefore, we did not redesign the living space. We have focused on recreating the original appearance with maximum respect for the historical context and present needs. We also kept the general colour palette of the house. However, they chose a slightly darker colour for the parquet and veneered plywood furniture, in line with the trends of the late 20s of the last century. This project started in June 2021, and we plan to complete it in a year. After all, the building itself was completely uninhabitable. It was necessary to completely re-equip the electrical and water networks, restore the old parquet, and the original 1929 windows made of valuable larch. By the way, they were white on the facade - in our opinion, this was part of Novakowski's original architectural concept. However, we have not yet found any evidence of this in the archives.The only significant change in the space was removing an unnecessary barrier in the form of a door between the kitchen and the hallway. Other doors we replaced with carefully reproduced replicas. We also kept the original radiators in the hallway and living room. For the rest of the heating points, we chose similar new cast-iron radiators. The dining table was found at the site and restored. Above the table, we installed a Louis Poulsen PH 5/5 Pendant lamp. The vintage chairs are from Denmark. By the way, the coffee table for the living room is also from there. The plumbing in the kitchen and bathroom is by the Italian brand Zanetti Chini. All sockets and switches are by Schneider Renova. All other lighting, cabinetry, furniture, and interior elements were custom-made. We managed to finish the project in June 2022, even though we faced a full-scale invasion by neighbouring terrorists. The new owners wanted to organize a venue that would constantly draw visitors to hold various events, meetings, and parties. And, of course, where people will enjoy delicious food. The goal of the project was to ensure full transparency of the whole room and kitchen.
